Thank You, Harwich!
Thank You, Harwich. We Couldn't Do It Without You
As another incredible Harwich Triathlon weekend comes to a close, there is one thing we want to say above all else:
Thank you.
While athletes rightly receive the medals, photos and finish-line celebrations, events like this are only possible because of an army of people who give their time, energy, expertise, equipment, facilities and support to make it happen.
Harwich Triathlon has always been a community event. It belongs to the town and to the hundreds of people who come together to make it special. This year was no exception.
Our Sponsors & Partners
Firstly, a huge thank you to all of our sponsors and partners. Their generosity and support help us deliver a safe, enjoyable and affordable event for athletes of all ages and abilities.
You can view our full list of partners and sponsors here:
Harwich Triathlon Partners & Sponsors
Without their support, Harwich Triathlon simply would not be possible.
Our Amazing Volunteers & Marshals
The biggest thank you of all must go to our volunteers.
Many people only see a marshal standing at a junction or cheering on competitors, but what they don't see are the countless hours before and after the race.
Some volunteers were up before 4:30am on both race days. They were setting up barriers, laying out signage, preparing transition areas, directing traffic, answering questions, carrying equipment and then staying behind afterwards to pack everything away.
They gave up their weekends so that others could race.
Every single volunteer is a hero in our eyes, and the atmosphere, safety and friendliness that athletes repeatedly comment on comes directly from their efforts.
Thank you all.
Feeding Hungry Athletes & Supporters
No triathlon weekend is complete without good food and great coffee.
A huge thank you to:
Mimi's Kitchen
Rebel Monkey Coffee House
Hazy Dayz
Jayz’ Ice Cream Van
Whether it was a pre-race coffee, a celebratory cake, a sandwich or a well-earned post-race treat, you helped keep athletes, spectators and volunteers fuelled throughout the weekend.
TWS – Our Water Boys
A special thank you to TWS (Temporary Water Solutions) for helping keep everyone hydrated throughout the weekend.
When the weather turns warm, access to water becomes critical, and their support played an important role in keeping athletes and volunteers safe and performing at their best.
Dan Turner – Trophies
Thank you to Dan Turner for once again helping with the trophies.
The trophies are often what athletes take home and keep for years as a reminder of their achievement, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.
Martin at Thompson-Cooper
A huge thank you to Martin at Thompson-Cooper for supplying the race cups.
It's one of those behind-the-scenes contributions that makes a huge difference and helps keep everything running smoothly on race day.
Danny & Marvans Vegetation Management
If you've ever looked around the venue and thought how great everything looked, there's a good chance Danny had something to do with it.
Thank you to Danny and Marvans Vegetation Management for cutting the grass, helping with logistics and generally being the people we call whenever something needs moving, fixing, tidying, cutting, carrying or organising.
Every event needs people who simply get things done. Danny is one of those people.
Dovercourt Swimming Pool
A huge thank you to the team at Dovercourt Swimming Pool for hosting our Sprint and Junior swims.
The pool races have become an important part of triathlon weekend and provide a fantastic introduction to the sport for many athletes and young competitors.
Harwich, DOVERCOURT & PARKEston Swimming Club
Thank you to Harwich Swimming Club for their support and assistance throughout the weekend.
The club continues to play an important role in helping develop local swimmers and supporting aquatic sport within our community.
Our Sea Safety Crew
The sea swim is hat makes the Harwich Olympic Triathlon so special, but it is also the part of the race that requires the most planning, expertise and vigilance.
Thank you to every member of the sea safety team and rescue crew at RTT, paddlers, boat crews and water-based volunteers who worked tirelessly to keep athletes safe.
Most athletes only see a reassuring face in the water. Behind that is a huge amount of training, preparation and professionalism.
We are incredibly grateful for everything you do.
Our Photographers
Thank you to Abbie and Ash, whose photographs help capture the stories, emotions and achievements of the weekend.
Long after the finish line has been packed away, they’re editing and filtering to make sure the images that are available allow athletes to relive their race and share their memories with family and friends.
We would also like to thank the many freelance photographers who came down during the weekend and generously shared their photographs with us. Your contributions help showcase the event and the community spirit that makes it so special.
Other Notable Mentions
A special mention also goes to Lil's Dad, who answered what can only be described as a race-weekend call-to-arms.
When the rescue crew found themselves struggling with an outboard motor, help was needed quickly. Within what felt like record time, Lil's Dad arrived with a spare and helped ensure our sea safety operation had the equipment it needed.
It's one of those contributions that alot of people will never know happened, but it perfectly sums up the spirit of this triathlon. When something needs doing, somebody steps forward and helps. Thank you for being one of those people.
There are countless other people whose names we haven't mentioned individually. The person who lent some equipment. The person who moved barriers. The person who answered a phone call, made a delivery, fixed a problem or simply asked, "What can I do to help?"
The weekend was built on hundreds of these moments. They often go unseen, but they never go unnoticed.
Finally...
Harwich Triathlon isn't built by one person or one club. It's built by sponsors, volunteers, local businesses, sports clubs, safety crews, photographers, athletes, supporters, families and friends.
Together, you've created something truly special.
From everyone involved in organising the event:
Thank you for helping make Harwich Triathlon 2026 another unforgettable weekend.
We hope you're as proud of what we've achieved together as we are.
