Get involved
Organising an event like a triathlon requires a lot of help from a lot of people (oftentimes, in the background). Some of that help is required weeks before and a substantial amount of help is required on the day of the races. As the popular moniker goes, volunteer marshals are “race makers” - they make the race happen. Without them, these events cannot take place. It’s as simple as that.
So, it is in that spirit we kindly request anyone who can help out in any way they can, in the build-up and particularly on the race days of Saturday 7th June and Sunday 8th June, to make themselves known to us. If you’re available all day, both days - amazing! If you can help out early for equipment setup, before you race - wonderful! If you can help on one day but not the other - great, please let us know! You can either reach out directly or you can fill in the form here (on the Get Involved page)
Getting involved may mean offering a unique skill or service which you think may benefit the race weekend. If you have some thoughts or ideas, please get in touch. We are happy to support local businesses and services, where we can. In particular, we are interested in a small number of catering services that can offer food and drink during race days. We are also after competent kayakers or paddle boarders who can sea marshal on the Saturday. If you think you can help, please shout.
Finally, just spread the word! We want to ensure everyone knows these races are taking place. At least then, people won’t feel as though they or their children have missed out on an opportunity to do something amazing. So - pass on our website to friends and family, post or re-post on social media, put up links in group chats and posters in schools and clubs. Any referrals will help to get the message out there.
Thank you!
